Alberto Martinez is a first generation coffee producer who bought his farm, La Parada, approximately 15 years ago. He works alongside his wife and sons, growing colombia, catimor, geisha, pacamara and pink Bourbon varieties.
Parada is located in the town of Arenosa, in the area of Algeciras of Huila. It sits at 2000 masl, planted with 5 hectares of coffee. Alberto's cherries are selectively hand picked, with the help of 12 employees that he hires specifically for this process. When the picking is complete, the cherries are floated and then anaerobically processed in bags and 'canes'. Finally, the coffee is sun dried on a patio. FOB : USD 16.49/kg.
